Purple
You surround me with warmth,
You give my head something soft to lie on.
You wrap me up when I am down,
You are so fierce when I need you around.
From day one you were my soul mate,
From then on we were a pair.
You have always shown your true colors,
Waving your royal flag of destiny.
Oh how charming you are,
Like a flirt of chivalrous demeanor.
Though you may stray away,
I know you’ll never disappear.
Those marks upon his skin,
They take your color up so vividly.
But I know you didn’t put them there,
Your only warning him of his misery.

it is about bruises, haha. Not too far.
I liked this a lot! The imagery seemed really strong – was the last stanza talking about purple bruises, or am I taking the poem too far?
I love this! It’s simple and clean. Purple, royal, chivalry all makes sense. Beautiful.
